The chocolate martini is the ultimate dessert or after dinner martini. I’ll admit I’ve always been a huge fan. This is slightly modeled after my chocolate espresso martini, however it was a challenge to get it just right. Once you take out the coffee liqueur and espresso you’re left with two ingredients. Vanilla vodka and Godiva Liqueur. But you still need a third element to balance it all out. I tried Irish cream, but all I could taste was…Irish cream. I also tried crème de cacao, but it wasn’t creamy enough and tasted a little harsh.
The home run? Godiva Dark Chocolate Liqueur in additional to Godiva Chocolate Liqueur. YES, BOTH. The result is slightly creamy with a perfect balance between vanilla vodka and chocolate liqueurs. Liquid chocolate. I always use vanilla vodka. You can use regular vodka of course but this is dessert so I highly recommend vanilla.
Combine equal parts vanilla vodka, Godiva Chocolate Liqueur and Godiva Dark Chocolate Liqueur. Shake with ice for 10 seconds and strain into a chilled martini glass. To add the chocolate swirl. Twirl chocolate sauce around the glass by slowly turing the glass and working your way from bottom to top.
