Description

The classic mojito is a refreshing summer favorite made with white rum, fresh mint leaves, lime juice (or wedges), sugar (simple syrup), and soda water for a little fizz.

Ingredients

  • 2 ounces white rum
  • 2 ounces club soda
  • 1/2 ounce lime juice, or 3 lime wedges
  • 67 mint leaves
  • 1/23/4 ounce simple syrup (1 tablespoon of sugar will do)
  • Cup of ice

Instructions

  1. In a Boston shaker, muddle limes, mint leaves, (optional fruit), and simple syrup until pulverized. Add rum and ice and shake or stir vigorously for 10 seconds.
  2. Pour contents into a glass (no straining) and top with two ounces of club soda. Stir and garnish with mint leaves.

Notes

For different variations, add blackberries, raspberries, strawberries, mangos, kiwis, blueberries, you name it.
