Course: Cocktail
Cuisine: American
Servings: 1 cocktail
- 2 ounces blueberry vodka
- 3/4 ounce triple sec
- 1/2 ounce simple syrup
- 1/2 ounce fresh lemon juice
- 4-5 blueberries (optional) pref frozen, muddled, plus more for garnish
- Splash of cranberry juice (optional) for color
Optionally muddle blueberries in a Boston shaker until pulverized.
Add vodka, triple sec, lemon, and simple syrup. Add a cup of ice and shake for 10 seconds.
Double strain into a chilled coupe glass. Garnish with fresh blueberries.
Muddled blueberries (especially frozen) will infuse the cocktail with natural colors and flavors. Be sure to double-strain to remove any pulp.
I've experimented with fresh muddled cucumber slices in this recipe for fresh cucumber notes. It goes well with the blueberry.
A small splash of cranberry can add a touch of color and make it more aesthetically pleasing. It's not necessary, the cocktail will just be clear without it.
Chill your glasses in the freezer to keep your drink colder for longer. This is my favorite trick, especially in the summer.
