This is a Sandals St. Lucia inspired frozen mudslide recipe made without ice cream. Patty and I went to Saint Lucia for our honeymoon and  easily had two mudslides a day. They were so refreshing, really simple, and tasted like they were made with ice cream. The best part is they aren’t half as bad for you as your typical 500-600 calorie frozen mudslide. With 350 calories I wouldn’t necessarily call them “healthy” but a much better alternative to binge drinking liquid ice cream.

All you need is vodka, coffee liquor, Irish cream and ice. After having about 12 of these on vacation (and carefully watching how each one was made), I was blown away by how simple the recipe actually was.

Now obviously if you add Milky Way ice cream to this recipe, it is going to be out of this world good, however you will be surprised by how delicious this simple recipe is on its own.

Healthier Frozen Mudslide Recipe

Serve in a frosted glass to keep mudslides frozen longer. You want them to be slightly thicker than a shake. If it’s too runny then add some more ice.

  • 2 ounces vanilla vodka
  • 2 ounces Kahlua coffee liquor
  • 4 ounces baileys irish cream
  • 2-2½ cups ice
  1. Combine all ingredients in a blender. Blend on high for 30 seconds until the ice is smooth and the mudslide has thickened. You don't want it to be too granular. Add more ice if the mudslide is too thin.
